If you have been sexually assaulted:
- Go to a safe place.
- Contact someone you trust or who can help you, a friend, family member and/or contact at least one of the following services in our community:

Women in Crisis offers a range of services, including the Sexual Assault Centre, Marianne’s Place Women’s Shelter, the Rural Women’s Support Program and the Transitional and Housing and Support Program. If you’re hurt or in need of immediate care, go to the emergency department at your local hospital to receive treatment for your injuries.

The emergency department is the main way to get in touch with the Care & Treatment Centre. Once you are seen in emergency, a nurse from the Care & Treatment Centre will come to meet with you. These nurses are specially trained to respond to sexual assault, sexual abuse and domestic violence. If you are not hurt and it is between 9am and 5pm, you can contact the Care & Treatment Centre directly at 519-837-6440 x2728. Your information will be kept confidential and will not be reported to the police. You will have the choice of having evidence collected.
Call 911 to report the assault. REMEMBER, the assault was not your fault.
